Larkspur is a charming mountain town, home to a mere 343 residents. Larkspur is almost entirely residential, but its relative proximity to Denver (43 miles) makes it a great option for someone who wants a rustic lifestyle with easy access to urban amenities. A tight-knit community of about 92 families, Larkspur values tradition and togetherness above all else. It is perhaps best known for its annual renaissance fair, which will celebrate its 35th anniversary in summer of 2011.
The residents of Larkspur are privy to some of the best views in Colorado, and they make the best of it with sprawling ranches and stately country homes. Because it is such a small town, there aren’t many property units available at a given time. But Larkspur sometimes has smaller homes available for affordable prices–often under $200,000–as well as mansions that can sell for as much as $8 million.
