When you are new to Denver, taking a tour of the city can get you acquainted with the area. Even those who have lived in the city for a long time might enjoy playing tourist for a day or two. There are a few fun sightseeing tours that natives, visitors, and new citizens will enjoy going on.
If you love all things beer-related, you will want to take the Microbrew Tour. There are several microbreweries in the city, and on this walking tour you will visit all of them and get to sample their brews. You will also walk by many of the city's places of interest along the route while your tour guide points out important and remarkable sights. You will also get a coupon for a free pint from any of the breweries, so you can go back and enjoy a sample after the tour. Additionally, you will get to learn all about the history of beer and how it is made on this fun walk through the city.
Inside and Out
One of the most exciting tours you can take is the Inside and Out tour. It combines a walking tour and scavenger hunt, while letting you become part of the infamous 1922 robbery of the Denver Mint. As you walk along and tour some of the more popular city sights, you also get to solve the crime. As you work out the clues, you meet many of the characters performing live street theater. It is a fun and informative experience, and one that the whole family can enjoy.
Banjo Billy's Bus Tours
On a Banjo Billy's Bus Tour, you go around the city in an old school bus that is made to look like a traveling hillbilly shack. Inside, you can sit on a couch, recliner, or saddle while listening to your guide tell you ghost tales, crime stories, and history of the city. You can take the tour multiple times and never get the same tour, because passengers vote on what the tour guide tells about various stops. The tour lasts about 90 minutes, and Banjo Billy also offers brewery tours.
Bikalope Bike Tours
Bikalope Bike Tours offers a guided tour of the city that is both fun and interesting. They combine bike paths that run along the riverside, city bike lines, and neighborhood streets to provide a comprehensive tour of the city. You will get to see hidden gems of the city that many people overlook, while also learning about the unique history of Denver. Although Colorado has many mountains, you do not have to worry about riding up any hills, as the terrain this tour covers is mostly flat.
Rocky Top Glide
Rocky Top Glide is a Segway tour of the city. An expert guide will lead you around all the fascinating sights in Denver. You will enjoy riding around on your own Segway, while also getting to see places like the business district, the cherry creek trail, historic LoDo, the Arts District, and Coors' field. The tour provides a fun adventure. Everyone can learn to use a Segway. You can see many of the attractions of the city at a better advantage while not tiring as quickly as if you were walking or biking around.
Whether you have just moved to Colorado or have lived in the state all your life, taking one of these tours will give you a better understanding of the city. Additionally, you will have a great time experiencing the city in a way you may never have before. You might just find yourself wanting to go on these tours more than once.
