Denver, Colorado is an excellent place to live, especially if you are of retirement age. There are a number of excellent communities for active adults to take up residence in, and a few of them are listed below.
This Denver, Colorado retirement community is strictly for those who are ages 55 and older. It sits on 143 acres of land, and contains condominiums and attached homes. These homes range in size from 720 to 2,145 square feet, and can have anywhere from one to three bedrooms. A number of clubs and activities are offered here, including, bridge, canasta, euchre, horseshoes, photography and a Bible study.
Fairway Villas at Green Valley Ranch
Nestled near the airport and downtown area, this retirement community also caters to those ages 55 and older. The community consists of 220 single-family homes, all of which are Energy Star rated. Fairway Villas is an excellent choice for golfers, as it provides direct access to the course, and residents are also allowed special golfing incentives. The community association sponsors potluck dinners from time to time, and residents can also take part in book clubs, Pilates or salsa dancing.
Located close to Interstate 25 in Denver, Colorado, Quincy Place offers studio, one, or two bedroom units in a scenic location overlooking the nearby mountains. Each apartment has an emergency call system, internet access, and satellite television. Three meals a day are served in the community's dining hall, and there are regularly scheduled day trips and on-site activities planned for residents here as well. A few of the offerings include a community library, media room, fitness center, billiards lounge, and a beauty/barber shop. Transportation is provided to and from medical appointments, and pets are also welcome here.
This retirement community is located in the Denver, Colorado suburb of Golden. It consists of 111 single-family homes designed exclusively for those ages 55 and older. This is one of the newest retirement communities in the Denver area, with construction being completed in 2009. These homes range from between 1,600 to 2,300 square feet. The community is planned with plenty of parks and natural green space, along with hiking and biking trails. Some activities that take place here include card playing, book clubs and various hobby groups.
Situated near Denver, Colorado in the town of Highlands, Ranch, GlenEagles Village has 345 single-family homes that are located on The Links golf course. The community's residents are all age 55 and older. This community is governed by a homeowner's association that takes care of landscaping, lawn care, snow removal and trash removal among other things. As such, residents can forget about performing maintenance, and instead enjoy some of the amenities such as the outdoor pool, card room, billiards room and clubhouse instead.
