View and Tour Denver Real Estate
Along the western edge of the High Plains, east of the rugged landscapes that make up the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, sits the city of Denver. Real estate in the Mile-High City, known for its one-mile elevation above sea level, has grown from a mining town during the Pike Peak Gold Rush, in the 1800s, to a vibrant urban center. Home to large corporations and a key trade point for the country, it's also filled with character, historic significance and a rich arts and culture scene.
You'll find a wide array of Denver homes for sale on the market. Condos, lofts, and townhouses are wonderful options for smaller budgets or if you don't care to maintain a large property. On the other hand, the many single-family dwellings on the market might change your mind! You'll find heritage classics, modern homes with all the luxuries, and everything in between. Denver homes are affordable and, with such a great variety, you're sure to find the perfect place to call home.
Owning Denver Colorado real estate is a fitness buff's dream. With access to over 200 parks, residents of Denver homes also enjoy the use of 29 recreation centers, for when the winter days are just too cold to brave. Parks near many local rivers, streams, and lakes have been preserved and turned into hiking and cycling trails for the enjoyment of generations to come.
This area offers locals the opportunity to enjoy an active lifestyle, but they also make for easy access to the city's many cultural attractions, such as the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and LoDo (Lower Downtown), a trendy historic neighborhood peppered with art galleries and hot spots.
Denver is home to a lot of well-maintained parks perfect for young and old alike. The list below are some of the most popular parks in Denver.
Alamo Pacita Park in Denver
The compact yet well-maintained gardens of Alamo Pacita is reminiscent of European landscapes with geometric arrangements. The views are so picturesque that they look like they are taken straight from a painting. Saco Resnik DeBoer designed the park which debuted to the public in 1927. The beauty of the flower beds can be seen while driving down Speer Boulevard, but their beauty can be better appreciated when seen up close. The park is family-friendly with different convergence spots like a basketball court, a playground and picnic areas.
Melvin F. Silverman Park
The Melvin F. Silverman Park is not very well-known even to residents. It has been outside the radar because its location in the Montbello neighborhood seems isolated geographically and culturally from the rest of the Mile-High City. Those who are fortunate to stumble upon this gem, have the pleasure of enjoying its color-splashed playground and fitness zones. This newly-updated park is designed to cater for people in all walks of life. There is a pavilion for events and family gatherings and a basketball court for ball enthusiasts. The residents in the neighborhood benefit from the park’s relative national anonymity. It becomes the go-to park for parents to have their workout while their kids roam around in the playground.
Mayfair Park
Mayfair Park in 1000 Ivy St. is also a residential park, although not as secluded as the Silverman Park. It does not pretend to be an upscale park and remains unassuming in its structures and facilities. Even the playground and the basketball court are modestly done. The impressive robust trees enveloping them are the only indications of grandeur in the area. This modesty actually heightens the charm of this quaint little park. Its straightforward layout and wide open spaces give a homey vibe to the park goers. It gives a retreat from the mundanes of urban life, despite being literally blocks away from the hustle and bustle of downtown East Colfax Avenue.
It is true that the progress of a place like Denver is inversely proportional to the need of its residents to find a haven and a retreat from urban demands. People in Denver want to go to places where they can find a respite from work without having to travel far. These Denver parks are now a staple part of the Denver urban landscape because it provides a place to recharge and unwind even in the middle of the workweek.
