Copper Mesa Elementary School is located in Firelight subdivision, alongside Poston Parkway. Students living in Firelight belong to the Douglas County School District which is highly ranked in Colorado. The middle school is Mountain Ridge and the High School is Mountain Vista, which is located on the West of Firelight. Along with trails and bike paths a large park/playground is tucked in Firelight. The Redtail Park sits at the edge of the community overlooking a greenbelt and has super views of the Rocky Mountains.
