McArthur Ranch in Littleton Colorado is a neighborhood of horse properties minutes away from city amenities. 56 properties, each with 5 or more acres of land call McArthur Ranch home. McArthur Ranch is located between Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree and North of Castle Pines North. The southern border of the Ranch backs to Open Space of a Cliff and Hills. The Wildcat Mountain Trail meanders on this open space. To the West the resident can marvel beautiful Mountain Views of the Rockies.
The area was homesteaded in 1919 by Mark and Edith McArthur who raised both cattle and horses in what became known as McArthur Ranch. The first 14 lots were sold for $8000 each in the early 1970's. Some of the original McArthur ranch has been sold and divided to other communities, including Lone Tree Estates, Carriage Club and Highlands View Estates. Plenty of open space surround the community. The maximum number of properties/lots allowed in the community (without amendment) is 112.
Times have certainly changed since 1970s when a parcels were sold for $8000. Now prices range from approximately $800,000 to two million dollars. McArthur Ranch offers a mixture of home styles and often it depends when the home was built. You can find homes that were built in 1950's, 1960's and practically each decade until recently.n the requirement is to have either a public water system and/or public sewer system. McArthur Ranch is currently on well water.
McArthur Ranch is an active Equestrian Community with trails nearby to enjoy riding. If you are interested in a horse property in McArthur Ranch it is a good idea to inquire how many horses are allowed as some lots/proprties may allows fewer than others. 
Schools
McArthur Ranch students are part of the Douglas County school District. The current elementary school Wildcat Mountain Elementary is in nearby Wildcat Ridge community, Middle School is Rocky Heights and High School is Rock Canyon. The middle school and high school are located at the corner of Quebec and McArthur Ranch Rd, not far from McArthur Ranch. Occasionally school assignments change so if a particular school is important to you it's a good idea to check with the school district.
The houses in the distance belong to Carriage Club neighborhood in Lone Tree CO Hills and Cliffs to the South and Southeast of McArthur Ranch, behind the hills is Surrey Ridge in Castle Rock.
